My baby has graduated from the crib and into a toddler bed. She is very excited to be in a big girl bed, mom is not so. It means she has graduated to the next step in life... TODDLER! She now has freedom to get in bed and out of bed and in again and then out one more time, no wait .......in again, I think......? and we're good....... oh.... what was that (THUMP)? And out again, and back to bed again..... YES,
I think were good !!
Finally she fell asleep!
This is where she was the next morning... poor thing! Notice the green purse and a set of keys on the floor? They weren't there before... where was she going?
Em is actually doing great... a few falls out of bed in the night but she's just like her dad... she sleeps through everything!
Parker came and played with Em the following day, remember there is a 1 year age difference... Em is older! These two were having way to much fun on her new bed.
Lynds... I think he likes the bed!

That is neat you've got Emmie in a bed. I haven't done it yet with Alicia. What great pictures. I love reading your journaling. You're so funny.
Kim! I wanted to say "HI" so "HI"! your blog is so cute and oh man your boys have grown up (well all but Ron :) ha ha)
Tell Ron I sitll remember his "Horse Shi.." sneeze when we went skiing one year! I'll never forget that !
So cute you have a girl with 3 older brothers that is how I grew up and loved it!
Take care!
Aww. Your post brings back such memories! I know it may seem wierd, but that is one of my favorite milestones a kid hits. It may be a little inconvenient at times, but there is nothing as cute and heartwarming as having a previously crib-bound kid walk into your room in the morning to wake you up. Ahhh. Good times, good times.
Emmie is so grown up! Look at that adorable little bed. Love it!
I am very impressed. Emmie seems to love the bed. I am not near as brave as you are. Megan should be joining the ranks soon. Except right now she seems to think that if she is awake that Tyson should be awake too. Too scary to think about.
OH! Toddler beds are SO much better than having to run to their aid every time they need to get out. Of course, my kids were easy to train when it came to staying in bed at night...
Please share your wisdom, how did you do it? She's up and going about 2:30-3:00 am every morning... UUGGHH!
Well...I'm sure I'm not an expert. Julian has always been a good sleeper.
Logan had long periods of insomnia(from meds) when he was 2&3, so I'd put him on a blanket with some toys in front of the TV(turned down low) then I'd zonk out on the couch. He mostly stayed put. I worried alot when I'd find him wandering the house, but I couldn't stay awake all night with him. (And no, he didn't make up for it during the day!)
With Emmie, does she get up and play? I think WHAT you do when she gets up in the night will have an effect on how long she finds it entertaining. She hasn't learned to go BACK to sleep on her own yet. I'd probably let her play on the condition she stays in her room(except to use the bathroom) and doesn't wake anyone. She'll likely get bored at night and eventually fall asleep. Hopefully she'll play for shorter and shorter periods of time until voila! Sounds easy, huh? But then, most things like this are easier said than done...
yea- a big girl bed is so much fun but way too much freedom. I haven't made the change for Jace, infact the bed is in the hall downstairs with Mike asking "when does Jace get the big bed" When I am ready! I'm not ready yet although I do leave the crib down and he can crawl in and out on his own, There is just something about bars!
